Setting up a survey
Do participants need an account?
No. You share one link and they answer. Nobody creates a password, and nobody is asked to remember anything.
How do I add the people who should answer?
Bring your list in from a spreadsheet. You can include attributes you already keep, such as team, location or seniority, and later read the results broken down by them.
Can a survey be anonymous?
Yes, and you decide per survey. An anonymous survey stores no participant identity at all. A survey that is not anonymous asks the person to identify themselves with an email or an ID from your list, so you can see who still has to answer.
What language can I write questions in?
Any language you need. The questions and answer options are yours to write, whatever language your people speak.
Can I see the survey before anyone else does?
Yes. Preview it as a participant would see it, and share that preview with a colleague for review. Nothing you do in preview is stored as a response, and the preview link can be revoked.
While it is running
Can I change the questions after launching?
No, and this is deliberate. Once a survey is active its structure is locked, because people who already answered did so against a specific set of questions, and changing them underneath would make the answers no longer comparable. If you need a different structure, clone the survey and launch the copy.
What if someone closes the form halfway through?
Their answers are saved as they go. They can come back to the same link and carry on where they left off.
Someone should not have been invited. What now?
Delete them. They lose access immediately, and if they had already answered, their responses come out of every count, mean and tally, not just off the list. This cannot be undone, so it is the wrong tool if you only want to stop someone answering.
Results and sharing
Can my team see who said what?
Not in an anonymous survey, where no identity is stored. And in any survey, a segment's results stay hidden until the group is large enough that no individual can be picked out. The threshold is yours to set and starts at five.
Who in my organization can see results?
Only members of the team that owns the survey, and what they can do depends on their role. Every request checks that membership before returning anything.
How do I share a report outside the team?
Either behind a link that cannot be guessed, or restricted with a passcode you set and share yourself. A restricted report checks that passcode again every time it is opened, so changing it takes effect immediately.
